Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, forward-thinking approach that blends talking therapy, cutting-edge neuroscience, and hypnosis to help you move toward the future you want.
Rather than focusing on your past difficulties and traumas, this therapy highlights and strengthens what’s already going well and encourages you to make gentle, positive shifts towards the future you want to create. By identifying goals and taking small, meaningful steps, you can create lasting and empowering change without revisiting painful memories.
First session is a relaxed, friendly chat where we explore what’s brought you here and the positive changes you’d like to see. We’ll look at your preferred future, and I’ll explain in simple terms how the brain works and how hypnotherapy can help you move forward.
We’ll also talk about what to expect from our sessions moving forward, and of course ask any questions you may have. By the end, you’ll have a clear plan and a sense of hope for the journey ahead.
Yes – Hypnotherapy is a safe and natural process that gently guides you into a relaxed state, similar to daydreaming or being emersed in a good book. During a session, you are always in control – you remain aware, alert, and able to speak, move, or stop at any time. Hypnotherapy works by helping you access your inner resources, not by taking over your mind. It’s a collaborative process designed to empower you, never to manipulate or override your will.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is known to support a wide range of challenges, including:
– Anxiety & stress
– Low mood
– Sleep difficulties
– Confidence & motivation
– Anger management
– IBS & weight-related concerns
– Pain management
– Phobias & Fears
– Smoking & Vaping
While many people feel noticeable changes after just a few sessions, each journey is unique. The number of sessions depends on your goals and how you engage with the process between sessions. Many clients benefit from 6 to 12 sessions, depending on the challenges experienced and how quickly they feel results. There’s no pressure or commitment, we review as we go, and you’re always in charge of the pace. SFH is designed to be effective in a short space of time offering real results, without long-term commitment.
Yes – it’s your mind doing the work, not the setting. Hypnosis is about focused attention and guided relaxation. That can happen just as easily in the comfort of your own space. Being in a familiar, safe environment can actually help you relax more deeply.
Things that can make it more effective:
– A quiet, private space with no distractions where you are truly able to relax.
– A stable internet connection
– Removing or placing other devices on silent
1. Create a Quiet, Comfortable Space, choose a calm environment where you won’t be disturbed. Dim lighting, a cosy chair or bed, and headphones can enhance the experience.
2. Use a Stable Internet Connection. Close other apps or browser tabs can also help
3. Camera and microphone on
4. Placing other devices on silent
5. Wear Comfortable Clothing. Loose, soft clothing helps you relax more easily.
6. Set an Intention. Some people may like to think about what they’d like to work on or shift—whether it’s anxiety, habits, sleep, confidence, etc. But don’t worry, you don’t need to have all the answers, just a general idea.
Hypnosis is a natural, focused state of awareness. It feels a bit like being deeply relaxed or daydreaming, where your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and new ways of thinking. You’re not asleep or unconscious—you’re just in a calm, quiet state where your attention is turned inward.
It’s often compared to:
– Getting lost in a good book or movie
– Driving on “autopilot” and realising you missed a few turns
– That dreamy feeling right before falling asleep
Everyone experiences it a bit differently, but common sensations include:
– Deep relaxation in your body
– A sense of calm and stillness
– Heightened focus on the therapist’s voice or your inner thoughts
– Feeling present but detached from outside distractions
– Sometimes, a feeling of lightness or heaviness in your limbs
You are always aware of what’s happening and can choose to speak, open your eyes, or stop at any time.
Think of hypnosis not as “losing control,” but as gaining deeper access to your inner mind, where change can happen more naturally and gently.
– Science-based and backed by neuroscience
– Focused on solutions, not problems
– Encouraging, supportive, and empowering
– Uses hypnosis to support deep and lasting change
